Public work

Public work.

Some of my work starts because something useful is missing. That has led me to build African icons, Nigerian mockups, a stock-photography platform and other resources outside my main product work.

African Icon Library

A free, open library of original icons and illustrations built for African people, places and everyday life — created because most design-tool icon sets default to a Western visual reference and leave African designers filling the gap themselves.

Nigerian Mockups

A library of contextual device and lifestyle mockups built around Nigerian settings, objects and people — the same representation gap as the icon library, answered for product and marketing imagery instead of iconography.

Retna

An African stock-photography platform, co-founded to give African creators a place to license and sell photography of African life, and give brands a supply of imagery that does not default to generic Western stock.

Photography

A side practice, not a hobby that stayed private: documentary photography of agriculture, cities and everyday life, published and reused independently of anything designed for work.

Community and mentoring

Mentoring designers and founders, informally and through accelerator and community programmes, alongside the venture and studio work.
